NV Energy and the NV Energy Foundation donated more than $5.1 million last year to support nearly 500 nonprofits statewide. These contributions were funded by the company, not its customers.

NV Energy provides funds to nonprofit organizations in its service territory that support public education, protection of the environment, youth development, arts and multi-cultural outreach, and health and human services. Reinforcing the company’s commitment to the community were its employees, who in the past two years have given more than 60,000 volunteer hours to meaningful causes throughout Nevada.

“NV Energy’s commitment to our community is what sets us apart in Nevada,” said Tony Sanchez, Senior Vice President of Government and Community Strategy for NV Energy. “Our company and our employees take pride in supporting the many causes and organizations that make a positive difference in our state.”

Grants and sponsorships were given to 260 southern Nevada nonprofits, including the I Have A Dream Foundation, Communities in Schools Nevada, Red Rock Search and Rescue and Nevada Veterans Foundation.  In northern Nevada, 238 organizations received grants and sponsorships, including Big Brother Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, Great Basin National Park Foundation, Northeastern Nevada Museum and the Nevada Youth Empowerment Project.
