NV Energy is partnering with local and regional apprentice linemen to showcase their skills in a friendly “rodeo-style” competition to benefit the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra (UWNNS).

The NV Energy Lineman’s Rodeo offers the public a chance to witness skilled apprentice linemen perform electric line work safely and efficiently. This family friendly event gives spectators the opportunity to witness firsthand the extensive technical and physical capabilities of Nevada and California’s electric personnel.

The Rodeo incorporates everyday tasks in a competition format providing the public, families and co-workers of electric personnel a chance to see competitions including Hurt Man Rescue; Pole Climb; Arrestor Change Out; Knots Around the Clock and a Mystery Competition.

In addition, children activities include taking rides in NV Energy bucket trucks, face painting and other activities. Food and refreshments are available for purchase.
