NV Energy Supports Statewide Organizations with More Than $342,000 In Grants during Fourth Quarter 2011

The NV Energy Foundation contributed more than $342,000 to 60 organizations statewide, including multi-year commitments, during the fourth quarter of 2011. Grants were given to 29 southern Nevada organizations including the American Cancer Society, Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada, The City Impact Foundation and the I Have A Dream Foundation. Thirty-one northern Nevada organizations also received grants, including the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, Nevada Land Conservancy, Tahoe Youth and Family Services and Washoe Education Foundation.

Each quarter, the NV Energy Foundation contributes funds to help local nonprofit organizations. Grants are focused on five philanthropic areas: education, the environment, youth development, arts and multi-cultural outreach and health and human services.
