NV Energy has awarded $5,000 in scholarships to four local college students studying renewable energy. The scholarships were funded by the Dollars for Dingers Renewable Energy Scholarship Program, an educational partnership between NV Energy and the Reno Aces.

Prior to the start of the Aces Aug. 10 game against the Sacramento River Cats, NV Energy Community Relations Manager Karen Ross presented $1,250 scholarships to University of Nevada, Reno, students Wesley Clary and Luke Fuller and Truckee Meadows Community College students Drew Murray and Jared Walker.

NV Energy had pledged $100 per Aces home run at the Reno Aces Stadium up to 50 homers. Since the start of Dollars for Dingers in 2009, NV Energy has awarded $30,000 in the renewable energy scholarships.

During 2014, NV Energy has awarded a total of $45,000 in scholarships to Nevada high school and college students.
