All Customers to Benefit from Third Consecutive Cost Reduction

NV Energy made a filing on November 13 with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada to reduce electricity rates effective January 1. The filing reflects reductions in costs associated with fuel and purchased power the company uses to provide electricity, and will result in an overall rate decrease of 5.22 percent that will be passed through to all southern Nevada residential, commercial and industrial customers.  This will be the third consecutive rate decrease since July 1, 2015.

A typical southern Nevada single-family residential customer bill of $148.35, based on average usage of 1,141 kilowatt-hours a month, will see a decrease on January 1 of approximately 4.58 percent, or $6.80.

NV Energy files an annual prudency review of its fuel and purchased power spending with the PUCN.
