For Immediate Release

Nevada Power and Sierra Pacific Power are launching a new incentive program designed to promote energy efficiency in businesses in April 2003. The Sure Bet program is designed to assist small and medium-sized businesses in implementing cost-effective, energy efficiency improvements.

The Sure Bet program offers incentives to help offset the cost of energy efficiency improvements which result in lower electricity usage or peak demand. Prescriptive incentives are offered on a per unit basis for common lighting, air conditioning and motor technologies. Incentives are also available for custom measures and are determined based on the estimated amount of electrical energy and peak demand savings.

The Sure Bet team will be holding four educational seminars for contractors during the month of April. The purpose of the seminars is to inform contractors and vendors about the Sure Bet program eligibility requirements, policies and procedures and to provide a technical overview of energy efficiency measures. Contractors and vendors will benefit from this program through increased business opportunities.

Seminars will be held in Reno on April 2 and April 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Sierra Pacific Power, 6100 Neil Road. Seminars will also be held in Las Vegas on April 3 and April 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Nevada Power, 6226 West Sahara Avenue. A light lunch will be served at each of the seminars.

To reserve a place at one of the four seminars, please contact the Sure Bet Team at (800) 342-6335, or email SureBet@kema-xenergy.com. Additional program information can be found on the Sure Bet website at:
