Mary Simmons, formerly director of Budgeting and Financial Planning and Analysis for Sierra Pacific Power Co., has been appointed director, Water Policy and Planning for the utility. She will report to Sierra's director of the Water Treatment System and will be a member of the utility's Water Operations and Planning team. Simmons joined Sierra Pacific in 1985 as an internal auditor. She has held a variety of positions in Finance, Regulatory Affairs and Strategic Planning.

She will report to Sierra's director of the Water Treatment System and will be a member of the utility's Water Operations and Planning team. Simmons joined Sierra Pacific in 1985 as an internal auditor. She has held a variety of positions in Finance, Regulatory Affairs and Strategic Planning.
One of her critical initial assignments will be representing her company in the Negotiated Water Settlement. She also will be a representative on the Regional Water Planning Board.
Simmons holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno.
