Wes Wiens Named to Head Sierra Pacific's Carson District

Long-time Sierra Pacific Power employee Wes Wiens, 50, has been named district manager of the utility's Carson District, which serves approximately 80,000 electric customers in western Nevada and portions of two counties in eastern California.
A native of Santa Cruz, Calif., Wiens was the company's Tahoe District manager from 1996 to 1999. He joined Sierra Pacific in 1977 as a lineman at South Lake Tahoe and worked as a customer service planner and operations supervisor before being named area service manager in 1986.
In his new position, Wiens is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the electric distribution system and for business office functions in the Carson District. Communities served by the district include Carson City, Minden-Gardnerville, Fallon, Yerington, Hawthorne, Fernley, Tonopah, Dayton, Silver Springs, Virginia City and Schurz. In California, the district serves Topaz, Coleville, Walker, Markleeville and Woodfords.
Wiens and his wife, Valerie, live in Woodfords. They have four children.
