A Nevada Power Company employee is being credited with saving the lives of two people involved in a rollover accident on Mt. Charleston in December. One person suffered a broken back and the other person suffered a broken leg.

Ron Chiusano was working in the Mt. Charleston area on service orders for Nevada Power Company when he was flagged down for assistance. A vehicle had rolled down the embankment of a 300-foot ravine. Chiusano was noted for proper use of safety lights, controlling traffic in the area and quick contact of emergency personnel. The Company recognized Chiusano with the HERO award at Nevada Power Company's annual safety kickoff meeting January 15.

"Ron acted professionally in a very traumatic time,"said Sally Galati, vice president of Distribution."We are tremendously proud of Ron. He is truly worthy of the Company's Hero award."

Nevada Power Company designs the safety kickoff meeting to remind employees to use proper safety techniques when working with electricity.
