Thirty-nine Washoe County students, kindergarten through 12th grade, have been named winners in the Nevada Recycles Day 1998 Poster Contest.

Purpose of the environmental competition is to heighten awareness of Nevada Recycles Day 1998, which is Saturday, Nov. 14.

The winners will be announced and prizes awarded on Saturday at the Sierra Pacific Resources headquarters cafeteria at 2 p.m. In keeping with the recycling theme of the contest, first prize at each grade level will be Patagonia outerware made from recycled soda pop bottles, and a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. Unique prizes also are being awarded to Honorable Mentions at each level. Winning posters will be on display at the site.
