Sierra Pacific Power is sponsoring a series of free seminars about the company's Agricultural Irrigation Rebate Program. Through the program, agricultural customers can earn cash rebates by making their irrigation systems more energy efficient.

Speakers will include Steve Giampaoli of Kema Xenergy, an expert on energy efficient motors for pumping systems and Janine Avery of Agri-Lines, who will review techniques for improving the efficiency of nozzles, regulators and gaskets used in agricultural irrigation pumping systems.

In addition, Dan Johnson and Herb Shedd with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development agency will provide information about the agency's energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.

Larry Rackley, a project manager for Sierra Pacific's Energy Efficiency and Conservation Department, will be available to answer questions about the company's Agricultural Irrigation Rebate Program. The rebates are offered to the company's IS-1 and IS-2 Agricultural Irrigation customers.

“Sierra Pacific has approximately 500 irrigation customers,” Rackley said. “If they install more efficient motors and make other energy efficiency improvements, they can save up to 25 percent on their power bills.”
