Bradley Woodring Tapped to Head Sierra Pacific's Economic Development Efforts

Sierra Pacific Power Company has named Bradley E. Woodring as its Manager of Economic Development for northern Nevada.  In his new position, Woodring will be responsible for managing Sierra's efforts in collaborating with business development organizations in northern Nevada.

Joining Sierra Pacific in 2005, Woodring has worked for the utility as a liaison with regional economic development authorities in northern Nevada, land developers and outside firms seeking to relocate to Nevada. 

"Brad brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with state and regional development authorities, the public and private sectors to attract new businesses to northern Nevada,"said Mary Simmons, Vice President of External Affairs for Sierra Pacific Power Company.

Woodring is a 25-year resident of northern Nevada and currently serves on numerous boards including the University of Nevada, Reno School of Business Advisory Board; the Truckee Meadows Community College Foundation, Nevadaworks, Western Industrial Nevada and the Western Nevada Development District board of directors.  He has previously served on the board of trustees for the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, Western Nevada College Foundation Board, the Builders Association of Northern Nevada and the Nevada Land Conservancy.  As a volunteer in the community, Woodring is chairman of the Keaton Raphael Memorial Childhood Cancer advocacy group and member, past president of the Reno Central Rotary Club and the Board of Trustees for the Childrens' Cabinet.

Woodring holds a bachelor's degree in communications from the California State Polytechnic University at Pomona.
