Community Leadership 101: Voices From the Asian American Community

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Nevada Power will host a special program for its employees titled  Community Leadership 101: Voices From the Asian American Community on Friday, May 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nevada Power's main office (6226 W. Sahara Ave.).

The Asian Chamber of Commerce and Nevada Power are proud to host this special program in conjunction with Asian Pacific-American month. The event will feature a panel of Asian leaders from the Las Vegas community who will share information on how they prepared themselves to become successful, balancing career and family, and discuss challenges they faced that made them who they are today.

The event will be moderated by Derek S. Uehara, Director, Asian Chamber of Commerce and special guest panelists will include:

Wayne Tanaka– Retired Educator, Honorary Consul General of Japan in Las Vegas
Dee, Mallas– Partner, First Asian Bank
Gerri Schroder - Councilwoman, City of Henderson
Bessy Lee-Oh– CEO/Publisher of the new Asian American magazine called The Big A
Hetty Chang - Reporter, KVBC Channel 3

More than 100 employees are expected to attend the panel discussion.
