NV Energy, the Nevada Commission on Economic Development (NCED) and local economic development authorities from throughout Nevada are teaming up to promote the state's potential as a renewable energy powerhouse.

The private-public coalition, named Team Nevada, is making its debut at the Renewable Energy World-North America Conference& Expo in Las Vegas, March 10 -- 12.  The event at the Rio Hotel& Casino is expected to attract 5,000 energy industry professionals and will feature exhibits by more than 225 companies.

Green Team Nevada representatives will pitch Nevada's green power story to renewable energy developers and manufacturers who build the equipment required to turn sunlight, underground steam and wind into electricity.

"Nevada is number one per capita for geothermal and solar energy,"said NV Energy Economic Development Director Bradley E. Woodring."Our state is blessed with abundant sunshine, and we have a Comstock Lode of geothermal energy and wind resources. We also have a business friendly tax structure and other incentives that make Nevada an attractive location for manufacturing."

NV Energy is the host utility sponsor for the green energy expo, and Roberto Denis, the company's corporate senior vice president for energy supply, will be among the keynote speakers at the event.

"Team members will present a package of natural resources, economic and financial incentives as well as the educational, research and manufacturing infrastructure that will enable new and established businesses to flourish in Nevada,"said NCED Executive Director Mike Skaggs.

Among the state economic development agencies joining forces with Nevada Team Green are the Nevada Development Authority; the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada; the Northern Nevada Development Authority; the Churchill County Economic Development Authority; the Mineral County Economic Development Authority; and the Lincoln County Regional Development Authority.
