NV Energy Announces Reference Yield for Ongoing Cash Tender Offer for Its 6.750% General and Refunding Mortgage Notes, Series P, Due 2037

Sierra Pacific Power Company d/b/a NV Energy ("Sierra Pacific"), a wholly owned subsidiary of NV Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NVE), announced the final reference yield in connection with the ongoing cash tender offer (the "Tender Offer") for its 6.750% General and Refunding Mortgage Notes, Series P, due 2037 (the "Notes") is 4.438%. The reference yield will be used to determine the consideration paid for the Notes that are accepted for purchase after the expiration of the Tender Offer.

The expiration date for the Tender Offer is Midnight, New York City time, December 21, 2009, unless extended or earlier terminated by Sierra Pacific. The early tender date for the Tender Offer expired on December 7, 2009.

The complete terms and conditions of the Tender Offer are set forth in the Offer to Purchase dated November 23, 2009, and in the accompanying Letter of Transmittal that has been sent to holders of the Notes.
